Field Trip to Trombetta Family Wines

The Sonoma County Vintners have declared October as Sonoma County Wine Month.  While we celebrate our local wineries and grapegrowers all year long, we did want to use the occasion to highlight one of the local wineries we adore.

Trombetta Family Vineyards

The Trombetta family crafts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Petaluma Gap, Russian River Valley and Sonoma Mountain appellations.  They recently invited our staff to their home and treated us to a delicious lunch, uncorked their wines, and shared their family story with us.

This is the revival of an annual tradition that started at the original Willi’s Wine Bar, and we’re delighted to have it back!  We enjoy getting to know our wine producers and learning about their vineyard and winemaking practices.

We got to meet Erica Stancliff, the daughter of the Trombetta family who is also the winemaker.  She shared with us the details of her winemaking magic and discussed the struggles of being a small family winery in today’s business climate.

We walked away with a true appreciation of the hard work they put into every bottle, a better understanding of the family that makes these beautiful wines, and of course, bellies full of delicious food and wine.  It was a fun, educational day, and we can’t wait to share Trombetta Family Wines with you!
