Bravas Celebrates Sonoma County Cider Week Spanish-Style!

August 17 through August 25, 2019

As part of Sonoma County’s 2nd Annual Cider Week August 17 through 25, Bravas Bar de Tapas will offer a special selection of local ciders made and served the Spanish way: unfiltered, rustic, and ever-so-slightly effervescent (after being poured through an authentic tapon, or aerator). The restaurant will offer three local ciders by the glass, bottle or flight: Horse & Plow Farmstead, Tilted Shed Inclinado, and Trowbridge.

Guests who order a bottle of these ciders will be treated to the show of a traditional “high pour,” as they serve it in the Asturias region of Spain, where the popularity of hard cider, or sidra, rivals that of wine or beer. They’ll also receive a Bravas tapon, so they can practice the “high pour” at home. By the flight ($15 for 3 tastes), glass ($8) or bottle ($33), they’re the perfect accompaniment to Chef Mark Stark’s traditional and modern takes on Spain’s favorite little plates. Servers will happily offer food pairing suggestions with each cider.

Bravas will also mix up a tasty cider-based cocktail during Cider Week for Happy Hour Monday through Thursday from 3pm to 6pm.
